Frontiers of Urban and Rural Planning (FURP) is an international journal focusing on urban and rural spatial planning. It is sponsored by Tongji University, with Wu Zhiqiang, an academician of the CAE Member, as the chief editor. A number of senior experts and scholars with academic influence at home and abroad form the editorial board.
Since its inception in 2020, the magazine has adhered to its purpose: to promote the sustainable development of urban and rural areas and the well-being of residents by supporting the most innovative interdisciplinary research and practice in the field of spatial planning. This magazine provides a world-class platform for the exchange of achievements in the theory, practice and interdisciplinary research of urban and rural planning: on the one hand, it always pays attention to the international cutting-edge trends; on the other hand, it shows China's exploration and achievements in the field of urban and rural planning, especially China's exploration focusing on the new urbanization strategy, the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity. The magazine disseminates the cutting-edge trends of planning and research in the form of weekly report, and cooperates with Springer-Verlag Publishing Group for international Open Access publishing.
