Design designs design

The use of AI in design is becoming increasingly advanced. Soon, AI might be capable of designing an entire system, product, or even building. From a technological perspective, this would be a remarkable development. But would this also lead to the demise of the human designer?

Kostas Terzidis, PhD, is a professor at the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University and the director of the Permutation Design Lab.  Previously, he was an associate professor at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. His current research is in AI and Design:  he has developed courses for kids and AI, conferences on AI+Art, and papers and academic books on AI and design.
