YU Yifan

Biography

  • With a French PH.D degree (EHESS, France, 2003), YU Yifan is professor of Urban Planning Department of Tongji University, counselor of Healthy City Program at Harvard University (USA), research fellow of Paris Sorbonne University in Paris (France). YU Yifan also serves as Planning Expert of China Aging Population Committee, Vice President of Shanghai Urban Planning Association, Deputy President of Sino-francophone Scholars association (SORSA). She is the founder of Aging Community Lab, and general secretary of Female Professor Association of Tongji University.

  • As leader of a number of research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and local government, YU Yifan was awarded the honorary titles of “21th Century’s Elites in China” of Ministry of Education in China, and “Pujiang Elites” of Shanghai.YU Yifan has published more than 50 articles academic journals and has authored three books: “Urban Habitation Morphology”, “Urban Design Project” and “Atlas de Shanghai”(Joint author, UNESCO). As a practitioner, YU Yifan has completed nearly a hundred urban planning, architecture and landscape design projects, and received over 30 awards at national, provincial and ministerial levels.
