NTNU Faculty Dean Visits CAUP

On June 29, Professor Vikas Thakur, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), paid an official visit to the College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP), Tongji University. The exchange session was attended by Professor Gao Jun, Vice Dean of CAUP, Associate Professors Tian Weijia and Ye Wei, as well as Professor Clarence Edward Choi from the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong.
At the meeting, Vice Dean Gao Jun extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and acknowledged NTNU’s long-term support for bilateral cooperation. He highlighted CAUP’s commitment to internationalized education and high-level global collaboration, expressing the hope to deepen cooperation with NTNU in architecture, engineering, urban environment and sustainable development.
Professor Thakur introduced NTNU’s Faculty of Engineering, focusing on its strengths in engineering education, scientific research and interdisciplinary innovation. Associate Professor Tian Weijia presented CAUP’s development overview and its fruitful experience in international exchange, student mobility and dual-degree programs. Associate Professor Ye Wei elaborated on the development and research features of the Department of Building Technology Science, as well as its existing cooperation foundation with NTNU.
Both sides identified broad cooperation potential in green low-carbon architecture, built environment and urban sustainability. They agreed to further advance research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and explore dual-degree programs amid the upcoming renewal of the inter-university agreement. The visit strengthens mutual understanding and lays a solid foundation for substantial and upgraded cooperation between the two institutions.
