Tongji CAUP held the final review of Spatial Geometric Graphic Design on June 11 for 13 second-year students of the 2025 Digital Intelligent Space Design Experimental Class. Co-taught by Professors John Lin, the review invited local and Hong Kong Region architecture scholars as jurors.
Launched in late 2024, the cross-disciplinary experimental class builds an AI-focused design curriculum to train future innovative spatial designers. The course encourages critical reflection on digital technology. Students analyzed six landmark modern residences and proposed renovation plans adapting these classic prototypes to contemporary living needs with digital design methods.
Teams presented redesign schemes for six iconic houses including Lovell Beach House and Villa Muller. Judges and students held in-depth discussions on how technology fuels architectural evolution.
This activity advances CAUP’s digital and interdisciplinary teaching layout, fostering design talents with critical digital thinking.
