Laurent Stalder has been Professor at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta), ETH Zurich since 2006, from 2017 to 2021 as the director of the institute. In 2009 he was a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in fall semester 2019 was guest professor for 《Architectural Behaviorology》 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. The main focus of his research and publications is the history and theory of architecture from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries where it intersects with the history of technology.
