Prof./Dr. Li Jingsheng is an expert of urban planning in the College of Architecture & Urban planning in Tongji University, who engages in the research of Eco-planning Theory & Method, Recycle Using of Urban Spatial Resources, Urban Landscape and Energy-efficient Building.
He has won the first prize for many times in the nation level competition on urban planning and architecture. He has been engaged in the research of Eco-planning since 1986, and took part in China’s first competition on Eco-planning named “National Yangling Model Area for Agriculture High-tech Park” in 1997, won the first prize. He was selected as the representative of Shanghai to attend the international academic symposium for sustainable development of seven world metropolises in Osaka, Japan and made the theme speech. In 2003, he attended the IGU international competition named “Sustainable Urban System Design” as the leader of Chinese team by the commendation of UIA. He has published 13 papers on Eco-planning in journals such as “Modern Agriculture And Neo-relationship Between Urban And Rural” and “Construction of Eco-Park in Shanghai”. He has taken charge of many Eco-planning projects includes “Ecological Recover Planning of Seagull Island” in Guangzhou city and “Urban Design of Canal Riverside Area” in Changzhou. Jingqiao Residential District, which was finished in 2000, won the Shanghai Ecological Prize for Residential Environment. The plan report named “Build Chongming (Dongtan) into An Ecological Green Island” won the Shanghai Prize for the Progress of Science And Technology 2001. And now it is one of great impact project in the World for Eco-planning & Green Building.
