Lectures on Selected Contemporary China Urban Issues Lecture 2

The Modern Urbanization of China in the View of a Global History
Abstract:
The speed and process of urbanization in China nowadays are undoubtedly unique. But to what extent can we argue that it is a special mode? It is helpful to establish an inclusive scope in the historical and geographical sphere for reconsidering China’s urbanization, which offers an alternative reference. Meanwhile, the issues such as modernization and development will also be touched on in this lecture. Despite a seemingly macro theme, it aims to recognize the essence rationally and precisely.
