As the spatial carrier of the pre-industrial urban and rural folk life forms, vernacular architecture constitutes a tradition of regional creation and landscape elements that combine natural endowments and cultural customs. In the industrial and post-industrial eras, most of the vernacular buildings are facing a crisis of survival and a fate of extinction. From the perspective of conservation and regeneration, this presentation aims to systematically analyse and interpret the genealogical perception and value judgement of vernacular architecture across administrative boundaries, as well as its modern evolution in terms of the heritage of regional creation and the reshaping of new vernacular forms.
