On May 30, 2025, a delegation from TU Graz, Austria visited CAUP at Tongji University. The delegation included Prof. Marlis Nograsek (Institute for Housing), Prof. Wolfgang Dokonal (Institute for Urbanism), and Prof. Bettina Gossak-Kowalski and Ernst Alexander Dengg Kowalski (both from the Institute for Architecture Technology – Architecture and Wooden Construction). They were welcomed by Deputy Dean LIU Kan from the Department of Architecture and faculty members YAO Dong, JIN Qian, WANG Xiang, and WANG Xi from Department of Urban Planning, and Director of International Office LI Wei.
During the meeting, professors from both sides exchanged insights on their research fields and discussed potential future collaborations. The meeting enhanced mutual understanding and laid a foundation for further cooperation.
After the meeting, Prof. WANG Xiang guided the delegation through the Teaching Matrix exhibition, the Creation and Research Center for Artificial Intelligence & Art, and the Digital Design Research Lab in Wenyuan Building, highlighting our college's strengths in experimental technology and innovative education. The Austrian professors praised our integration of practical innovation with theory. Later, Post-Doctor WANG Xi led them on a tour of Shanghai’s heritage conservation project, “Shenchengli Original Aspirations Hall,” providing insight into the preservation of Shanghai’s Shikumen communities.
