Tongji University - Hanoi (Vietnam) Symposium on Cultivating Elite Human Resources Held

On May 12, the Tongji University - Hanoi (Vietnam) Symposium on Cultivating Elite Human Resources took place. Attendees included Lv Peiming, Executive Vice President of Tongji University; Tran Dinh Canh, Member of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs; and Pham Van Bo, Vice President of the Vietnam Ministry of Construction - Institute of Construction Strategy and Cadre Training. Also present were 21 leading officials from the Hanoi Departments of Construction, Education, and Home Affairs, as well as relevant heads from Tongji University's Department of Basic and Social Education, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., the International Cooperation and Consultation Research Center (ICCC) of Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and the Urban Construction Cadre Training Center of Tongji University.

 

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions centered around exploring strategies for cultivating talents to serve the development of Shanghai (Hanoi) and the entire nation, as well as leveraging Tongji University's think tank to advance urban planning and construction in Shanghai (Hanoi). To lay a solid foundation for deeper cooperation, both parties agreed to jointly promote talent cultivation and support the urban development of Vietnam. Tran Dinh Canh stated that Vietnam is experiencing rapid development and has established close cooperation with Tongji University in areas such as urban infrastructure planning, metropolitan construction, and rail transit. He emphasized that Vietnam will place greater emphasis on the training of leading cadres, focusing on learning advanced experiences, and will implement more extensive training programs with Tongji University. Pham Van Bo noted that Vietnam and Tongji University have already achieved in-depth cooperation in the field of training. The three training programs held at Tongji University in 2006, 2007, and 2024 have provided Vietnamese urban construction cadres with highly valuable learning experiences. He will lead a new round of training at Tongji University and believes that through long-term collaboration, both sides will achieve more learning outcomes to bolster Vietnam's urban construction.
