A delegation from Tongji University's College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP), comprising LIU Kan, Deputy Director of Architecture Department, Shen Jie, Deputy Director of Landscape Architecture Department, Tan Zheng, Administrator of International Academic of Architecture Department and Wang Zijing from the International cooperation Office CAUP, departed for Malaysia on March 11 to participate in the 2025 Malaysia China Higher Education Fair. The three-day event aimed to promote Chinese higher education, attract outstanding international students, and expand Tongji's influence in Southeast Asia.

Jointly organized by the United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong) and the Malaysian Chinese Students' Association (Liu Hua), the fair brought together 48 renowned universities from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau. Targeting over 63 Chinese independent high schools in Malaysia, the event was held at three locations—Mah Boon Peng Chinese Independent Secondary School, Klang Chinese Independent Secondary School, and Bukit Mertajam Sin Min Independent High School—with each session drawing 1,500 to 2,000 students and parents.

During the exhibition, the CAUP team introduced Tongji's admission requirements for international students, emphasizing the academic strengths, global competitiveness, and career prospects of its Architecture, Urban Planning, and Landscape Architecture programs. Personalized guidance was provided to the students, helping them align their academic goals with Tongji's offerings.

The delegation also engaged in discussions with Dong Zong, Liu Hua, and principals of the participating schools to explore future collaborations. These talks laid the groundwork for deeper partnerships between CAUP and Malaysian Chinese educational institutions.

The fair significantly raised awareness of Tongji University and CAUP among Southeast Asian students and educators, bolstering the institution's international reputation. Moving forward, CAUP plans to strengthen ties with the region to attract more high-caliber international students and advance the university's globalization efforts.
