Abstract:

The speed and scale of contemporary Chinese urbanization is unprecedented in human history. Massive and rapid urbanization would inevitably bring unimaginable changes to the society and economy, as well as tremendous impact to the land, environment and resources. Thereby, the problem caused by urbanization would correspondingly be one of the biggest challenges in contemporary China. As the first Lecture of Lectures on Selected Contemporary China Urban Issues, it is going to mainly focus on analyzing the issues and problems in the urbanization process of contemporary China and put forward some strategically relevant thoughts.
