On November 18, 2024, Sue Harrison, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology (EAIT) at the University of Queensland led a delegation to visit our college. The delegation included Ali Cheshmehzangi, Head of School School of Architecture, Design and Planning (ADP), and Angela Li, Manager of International Engagement at EAIT. CAUP was represented by Vice Dean Philip F. Yuan, Assistant Dean for International Relations Shen Yao, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, Dean Assistant Yang Chen, Head of International Relations of Department of Architecture Tan Zheng, and Associate Professor Liu Liu from the Planning Department during the meeting.
At the meeting, Sue Harrison and Philip F. Yuan introduced the disciplinary layout and talent cultivation model of their respective schools and engaged in detailed exchanges on academic resource sharing. Both parties highly affirmed the close alignment in research directions and international cooperation models, and delved into discussions on cutting-edge research areas such as AI technology and Digital Twin.
Furthermore, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on future cooperation plans, intending to collaborate on talent cultivation initiatives including dual master's degree programs, joint doctoral program, joint design studios, and joint workshops. This visit has established a new bridge for comprehensive cooperation between the two parties and injected new impetus into jointly promoting academic and research development in the future.
