Research Profile

Dr. Liu Liu has engaged in research on new technologies for integrated indoor and outdoor planning based on digital twins and multi-sourced sensing, theories and techniques for spatial data modeling of built environments, and methods for optimizing urban functionality. He is an advisor of ISPRS IV/9 WG 'Spatially Enabled Urban and Regional Digital Twins', and a member of the digital twin and future city professional committee in Chinese Society For Urban Studies. In addition, He served as a member of the program committee or scientific committee of international academic conferences for many years, such as the International Smart Data and Smart Cities Conference, the International 3D GeoInfo Conference, and ISPRS Technical Commission IV Symposium. Moreover, he also serves as a reviewer for journals such as 'Computers, Environment and Urban Systems', 'International Journal of Geographical Information Science', 'International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation', 'Transactions in GIS', etc.

He has led a bunch of scientific research projects and published more than 20 academic papers (including 10 SCI/SSCI indexed ones), with Google Scholar H-index of 16 (as of October 2024). He also published a scholarly monograph based on his doctoral research (ISBN: 978-94-92516-93-0). His full list of publications can be found in:
