Mario Carpo, Reyner Banham Professor of Architectural Theory and History, the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL London, Gaofeng Professor of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University. Mario Carpo was the Head of the Study Centre at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal from 2002 to 2006, Vincent Scully Visiting Professor of Architectural History at the Yale School of Architecture from 2010 to 2014, Senior Scholar in Residence at the Getty Research Institute (2000-2001); Resident at the American Academy in Rome (2004); Guggenheim Fellow (2022-2023); etc. Dr. Carpo's research and publications focus on the history of early modern architecture and on the theory and criticism of contemporary design and technology. His award-winning Architecture in the Age of Printing (MIT Press, 2001) has been translated into several languages.  His most recent books are The Alphabet and the Algorithm (2011); The Second Digital Turn: Design Beyond Intelligence (2017); and Beyond Digital. Design and Automation at the End of Modernity (2023), all published by the MIT Press.

Immanuel Koh is an Assistant Professor in Design & Artificial Intelligence (DAI) and Architecture & Sustainable Design (ASD) at the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) where he also directs Artificial-Architecture. Immanuel is the conference chair of Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA)  2024. Trained at the Architectural Association (AA) in London and holds a PhD from the School of Computer Sciences and Institute of Architecture at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), he is a pioneer in AI x Architecture and operates in a highly original and trans-disciplinary way. He is the Principal Investigator for several funded AI research projects with support from, among others, the National Research Foundation (NRF), Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), National Arts Council (NAC), AI Singapore (AISG), DesignSingapore Council (DSG), Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), DSO National Laboratories, and National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC). Immanuel currently also conducts research for high-profile architecture practices such as Zaha Hadid Architects (London) and MVRDV (Rotterdam) in developing custom state-of-the-art deep learning models. He has published and exhibited widely, ranging from AAAI, ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS and AD to Singapore’s Arts House, National Design Centre, Venice Architecture Biennale, and V&A Museum; and taught internationally such as at UCL, RCA, Bauhaus Dessau, Harvard GSD, and Strelka. Immanuel is the author of the book ‘Artificial & Architectural Intelligence in Design’ published in 2020. 

Philip F. Yuan, a professor and associate dean of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University, the Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Intelligence journal, Honorary Fellow of American Institute of Architecture (Hon. FAIA), Leading Scientist of the 14th Five-Year National Cluster of Excellence Program. Yuan was attributed with UIA 2023 The Auguste Perret Prize for Technology in Architecture. His work has been recognized with notable awards, including 2022 AIA Open International | Architecture Honor Award, 2022 Dezeen Award Best Civic Building, 2020 ACADIA Innovative Academic Program Award of Excellence etc. Yuan has participated in Venice biennale, Chicago biennale, Milan triennial, Tallin biennale, etc. His works have been collected by MOMA New York, M+ Hong Kong and Centre National d'art et de Culture Georges Pompidou. 

Junyang Wang received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Department of Architecture, Nanjing Institute of Technology (now the School of Architecture, Southeast University) in 1982; he was a graduate student at the School of Architecture, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden from 1984 to 1986; and he received his PhD degree from the School of Architecture, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden in 1995. After returning to China, he worked at the Postdoctoral Station of Tongji University, and later became a professor at the Institute of Architecture, Nanjing University and an adjunct professor at Tongji University. He has published a number of articles in The Architect, Time Architecture, and World Architecture, and his translations include Studies in Constructive Culture.

Zhang Bin is a visiting professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and the founder and principal architect of Atelier Z+.In 2002, he co-founded Atelier Z+ with Zhou Wei, and has completed a number of important completed works, including Building C of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, the Sino-French Center of Tongji University, the kindergarten of Zhongfu Hui in Shanghai New Jiangwan City, the office building of Liantang Township of Qingpu, the Cultural and Sports Activity Center of Anting Township of Jiading, the library of Zhejiang College of Tongji University, the junior high school of Siongdian Road, the management building of the pump gate of NanGu Pu Xuhui Observatory Conservation Renovation, East Bank Wangjiang Station, Chongming Dongtan Wetland Education and Research Center, etc.His works have been honored with the WA China Architecture Award for Best Work, Business Week/Architectural Record China Architecture Award for Best Public Building, the Fifth Architectural Society of China Architectural Creation Award for Best Work, and the First Prize of the National Outstanding Engineering Survey and Design Profession Award for Architectural Engineering and Public Construction. His participation in domestic and international exhibitions include: 2014 Shanghai Biennale “City Living Room”, 2016 China Contemporary Architecture Exhibition (Harvard University), 2017 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season, 2017 Seventh Shenzhen-Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urban Architecture, 2019 Unknown Cities: Chinese Contemporary Architecture Installation and Video Exhibition, and so on.

Peng Nu is a researcher and professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University, deputy editor-in-chief of Times Architecture magazine, and a visiting scholar at GSAPP of Columbia University. She is a member of the Academic Committee of Architectural Media of Architectural Society of China, a member of the Academic Committee of Architectural Review of Architectural Society of China, a member of the Specialized Committee of Historical Building Preservation of Shanghai Architectural Society, and a corresponding editorial board member of Western Journal of Habitat Environment. Her research interests include the history of modern Chinese architecture and the preservation of modern Chinese architectural heritage, the history of modern architecture in Shanghai, and the history of industrial architecture in China.

Chao Yan, assistant Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, member of the Academic Committee for Computational Design of the Architectural Society of China, member of the Digital Architecture Branch of the Shanghai Architectural Society, editor of the Architectural Intelligence journal. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia, and a guest lecturer at the China Academy of Art. He researches on the design theory and methods related to digital technology, with a focus on environment-behavior research and design based on machine vision, spatial intelligence and AR technologies. He has published more than 30 papers, authored 6 books, and also practices through design and curation, participating in numerous domestic and international exhibitions such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, Shenzhen/Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale, and Shanghai Urban Space Art Season.

Zhou Jianjia is a postdoctoral researcher at Tongji University, the founder and principal designer of YeArch and YeTech. She received her PhD in Architecture from Tongji University and her Master of Architecture from the Cooper Union in New York. Her research focuses on cutting-edge fields such as digital architecture theory and AI architecture, and she is the author of Design Against Smog (Tongji University Press, co-authored with Li Linxue and Tan Zheng), Shenzhen Competition: International Competition for Urban/Architectural Design of Shenzhen 1994-2014 (Tongji University Press), and Anthology of Reviews on Shanghai Urban Space Art Season (co-authored with SUPDRI). Zhou is a Guest Tutor for graduate design at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Nanjing University, and has taught at several universities, including Tongji University and The University of Hong Kong, etc. She has widely participated in many major international conferences and published articles in academic journals.

Her practice has been honored by the Shanghai Architectural Society and, the WALLPAPER Design Award, and her works have been invited to exhibit at the China Pavilion of the Venice International Architecture Biennale in 2021 and 2023.

In addition, Zhou has been working as a curator in urban and architecture for a long time. Her curatorial projects include Shanghai Urban Space Art Season, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall Exhibition Renewal, Shanghai Bund Signal Tower Exhibition, and “Shunchang Road Revisited”, etc.
