Dr. Shi Zhongming is the Product Lead of the City Energy Analyst (CEA) of the Architecture and Building System Research Group in the Department of Architecture , ETH Zurich. And he is the PI of the Future City Laboratory of ETH Zurich. He is responsible for developing CEA, an urban building energy simulation platform and one of the first open-source initiatives of computation tools for the design of low-carbon and highly efficient cities. He is also teaching a studio-based course named Integrate-design Project at ETH Zurich, and the course addresses urban design issues informed by building energy performance.

Dr. Shi Zhongming studied for a master's degree in the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University, and completed his PhD training (Doctor of Sciences) at the Future City Laboratory of ETH Zurich. Then, he was working as the Project Coordinator at the Cities Knowledge Graph Project at the Singapore-ETH Centre. Meanwhile, he was the Lead Principal Investigator for the Project of Building-integrated Agriculture in collaboration with the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore.
