October 27, 2023, Elena Manferdini, Director of Graduate Programs of Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and Founder of Atelier Manferdini, Elena Manferdini, and Wu Hao, Head of SCI-Arc China, visited our college. Vice Dean Yuan Feng, Director of International Cooperation Department Liu Kan, Assistant Professors Yan Chao and Wang Xiang met with the guests, and Ma Yansong, presiding architect of MAD Architects, participated in the discussion.

Both sides put forward the expectations for the cooperation and collaboration in the near future.

Color Corrections

Color is everywhere. Seemingly self-evident and uncomplicated color is one of the most accessible elements of any visual language. And because of its ubiquitous nature, color reveals the visual aesthetics of the Zeitgeist. Today color is emissive, viral, expressive, engaged, and ecological. In this digital age where there is no such thing as one clear image or one correct viewpoint, color is nimble enough to broaden meaning. Color Correction is a lecture on the possibilities of color through the saturated world of Atelier Manferdini.

Round table discussion

After the lecture, Vice Dean Yuan Feng hosted a round table discussion with Architect Ma Yansong and Elena Manferdini to discuss how to cultivate students' creativity and enhance their overall individuality and diversity in the teaching of architectural design. The interactive dialogue enriched the content of the lecture and provided the audience with the opportunity to have in-depth academic exchanges with these industry pioneer.
