Brief Introduction

Publishing in 'major', 'international' journal has increasingly become an objective for scientific researchers, not least in China. This is a challenge for all scientists, but acceptance rates of 'Chinese papers' show this challenge is even more critical for Chinese scholars. In this workshop, Prof. Ben Derudder will draw on his experience as an author, as a reviewer, as someone who has worked with Chinese researchers and on China, and as an editor of Regional Studies to reflect on the challenges and pitfalls of trying to publish in major scientific journals. This reflection will be used to make some concrete recommendations, followed by a discussion and a Q&A session.
