On 10th April to 15th April 2015, Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu was invited by the the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation to participate the first academic advisory committee meeting. During his trip, he also paid a visit to the TU Berlin and TU Delft.

This is the first Academic Advisory Committee meeting from Bauhaus Dessau Foundation; all the members gathered together discussing the academic topics of common concern and the future development of the Foundation. The Thuringian Culture Minister, also The Chairman of the Bauhaus Foundation, Mr. S. Dorgerloh and the director of the Bauhaus Foundation, Dr. C. Perren express their warm welcome to all the committee members at the opening ceremony. Members are from Yale University, Berlin University of the Arts, TU Sydney, Tongji University, University of Essen, and some famous architect from Berlin and famous art critics from Vienna.Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu discussed the related issues with other committee members, and expressed the willingness to share the International cooperation network with the Foundation, especially in Asia Pacific Region. Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu also kindly invited the Foundation to send representative to be the Jury of the Tongji International Construction Festival 2015 and the summer school. He also expects that Tongji can send students to Bauhaus for its 100 years celebration in 2019.

Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu also paid a visit to TU Berlin and TU Delft during his trip in Germany.

At TU Berlin, He visited those Dual Degree students from Tongji University, and learned their study life in Germany, He also encouraged them to take the initiative and make its own contribution for the sustainable development of this program. Dean Prof LI Zhenyu met with Ms. Skurski, the Deputy Director of TU Berlin International office. Both parties discussed the ways to strengthen the cooperation, including the CSC scholarship and the teaching cooperation in architecture and urban planning field between Tongji and TU Berlin.

Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu met with the educational counselor at Chinese Embassy in Germany, the former vice president of Tongji University, Prof. Dong Qi; the first secretary, Prof. LI Guoqiang. He also met with the chairman of the Hanover Confucius Institute Dr. Hu Chunchun, and the Chinese Director, Dr. CAI Lin and discussed the ways to strengthen the architecture culture.

At TU Delft, Dean Prof. LI Zhenyu met with Prof. Kees Kaan, the director of the Architecture Department of TU Delft. He introduced CAUP to Prof. Kaan, Prof Kaan said he was aware of the good grades Tongji get in the ‘Vertical Cities Asia’ competition, and was very willing to visit Tongji and give lectures in the future. Both sides agreed to build a closer relationship of cooperation between Tongji and TU Delft.
