Recently, the National Accessibility Environment Exhibition Hall, together with the 'JOMOO: Love Without Barriers' National Accessibility Excellence Design Achievements City Exhibition Tour and the Accessibility & Inclusive City Research and Planning Design Exhibition (Tongji University Station), was inaugurated.

This exhibition tour is jointly organized by the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, the College of Transportation, and the Inclusive City Research Platform of Tongji University. Notable attendees included Lu Shiming, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, vice-chairman of the 7th China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and President of the China Volunteers Association for the Disabled, Shi Zhenming, Vice President of Tongji University, as well as heads from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University Urban Transportation Research Institute, Shanghai Municipal Disabled Persons' Federation Rights Protection Department, and the Tongji University Inclusive City Research Platform. Experts, scholars, designers, and student representatives from various sectors who care about accessibility construction attended the opening ceremony to jointly explore how to promote accessible environment construction and inclusive city development.

To promote further accessible education, in 2012, Chairman Lu Shiming and Zhang Haidi visited Tongji University, boosting accessible research. This exhibition highlights Prof. Pan Haixiao teams achievements from CAUP since 2000 in inclusive urban design, including campus, community, and rail transit accessibility, as well as rural household accessibility, awards, and publications. Interactive devices like simulated visual impairment glasses provided immersive experiences, earning praise for Tongji s Inclusive City Research Platform.

That afternoon, a seminar on accessibility in aging societies featured experts discussing environmental construction and sharing cutting-edge research and practical cases. Collaborations with scholars from Dalian, Wuhan, and Tongji s team on inclusive cities and 15-minute community life circles enriched course teaching.

Supported by the Tang Zhongying Foundation, the platform advocates equal, accessible living spaces through case sharing, fostering inclusive urban environments.
