Since 2012 Professor Jin Ying has been the head of the Cities and Transport Research Group in Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge. Over this time he has established eight research clusters which have helped him and colleagues to find topics of innovation in sustainable cities, urban and rural revitalisation, green transportation and Al. Before teaching in Cambridge he has led a series of large modelling projects for the UK, EU, the World Bank, etc. Since 2011 he has been the founding convenor of the International Symposium for Applied Urban Modelling. During 2017-2020 and 2022 he was Director of the Martin Centre for Architectural and Urban Studies, and Deputy Head of Department for research, He is now Chair of the Department' s Degree Committee.
Introduction
In this talk Prof. JIN Ying will reconsider the theories and methods for urban modelling for a steady phase of urban growth, leveraging his modelling experience of the past 30 years and in the con-text of the new urban trends (including the initiatives for all-age friend.ly cities).
