Profile:

Yiming Wang is an Assistant Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP), Tongji University in Shanghai, China. He completed his PhD at University of Technology Sydney, Australia in 2018 and held a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at CAUP during 2018 and 2021. His research interests are centered on public spaces in China, urban regeneration, urban governance, and urbanism in the global south. He is the author of Pseudo-Public Spaces in Chinese Shopping Malls: Rise, Publicness and Consequences (Routledge, 2019). His research outputs have been widely published in leading international and Chinese journals including Cities, Land Use Policy, Urban Affairs Review, Urban Design International, Eurasian Geography and Economics, American Journal of Economics and Sociology. He reviews manuscripts for leading international journals including Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space (Sage), Housing Studies (Routledge), Journal of Urban Affairs (Routledge), Journal of Architecture (Routledge), Planning Practice & Research (Routledge), City & Community (Wiley).
