On March 29th, 2024, Professor Lee Inhee, former Director of the Architecture Department at Pusan National University in Korea, and Professor Chung Jae-hoon, from the City Planning Department, visited CAUP. Dean WANG Lan, Director ZHANG Li of the Leadership Training Center Of Urban-Rural Development of Tongji University-Ministry Of Housing And Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD), and Coordinator WANG Yan for the Campus Asia Program and the Pusan National University Dual-Degree Program joined the welcome meeting.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in discussions on the operation of the Asian Campus Program and expressed expectation for further strengthening the dual-degree program. They agreed that encouraging student exchanges and fostering academic cooperation would significantly contribute to the mutual development of both universities. Dean WANG Lan extended a sincere invitation to the faculty members and students from Pusan National University to participate in the International Construction Festival and the 2024 Summer School organized by our college, looking forward to meeting and engaging with Korean faculty and students at Tongji.
Director ZHANG Li had a warm exchange with Professor Lee Inhee on academic research collaboration. Professor Lee Inhee, a leading researcher in the field of rural human settlements, has long been studying the social spaces of traditional villages. The two professors shared international experiences and looked forward to deepening their cooperation and maintaining academic ties in the long run.
Both sides expressed a shared expectation for more diverse forms of collaboration in the future. Through various project exchanges, they aim to jointly cultivate students with global competitiveness, enhance academic standards, and promote friendship between China and Korea. This meeting not only deepened the understanding and trust between the two parties but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration.
CAMPUS Asia
The CAMPUS Asia is a cross-border student mobility program among Korea, Japan, and China, initiated by the agreement of the Summit Meeting of Korea, Japan and China in 2010. The program aims to strengthen networks among academic institutions of higher education in Asia and promotes student exchanges through joint and double degree programs and exchange programs. Over the years, CAUP has organised various activities such as summer (winter) school, mutual visits between Chinese and Korean university professors, online working meeting and online academic seminar etc.

Tongji-Pusan National University Exchange Program
The Tongji-Pusan National University Dual-Degree Program has been operational since 2020, with students from both universities exchanging for one year after completing their first year of studies at their home universities. Upon completing their academic requirements at both universities, students are awarded degrees from both universities. The short-term exchange program has been sending students from 2015 for study visits lasting one to two semesters. By 2024, the program has successfully cultivated 29 Chinese and Korean students.
