Introduction to the Lecturer
Shao Yong, Professor of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, Executive Director of UNESCO World Heritage Training and Research Center for the Asia-Pacific Region (Shanghai). Prof. Shao Yong is dedicated to the field of history of urban and rural development and heritage preservation, and she is the Vice President of the Scientific Committee on Vernacular Architecture of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Deputy Secretary General of the Academic Committee on Historical and Cultural Cities of the Chinese Society of Urban Planning, and member of the editorial board of Built Heritage. She has presided over more than 100 heritage protection projects,and authored C Equilibre et harmonie: protection et mise en valeur du patrimoine architectural, urban et paysager en France, “World Heritage in China - Historical Cities”, etc., published more than 70 academic papers, and presided over a number of scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation. He has won the UNESCO Asia Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Protection three times, and more than 30 national and provincial awards for planning and design, heritage protection, education and scientific and technological innovation. In 2021, Shao Yong was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.

Introduction to the lecturer
ZHANG Song is professor of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Tokyo, Japan. Prof. Zhang has long been engaged in theoretical research, teaching and engineering practice in the area of urban planning with his main focus on urban heritage conservation, urban history, urban planning and design theory, urban landscape management methods, etc. He is also a chief planner of Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd;a member of the Special Committee for Historic and Cultural Preservation and Inheritance of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, a convener of the Regulations and Theory Panel of the committee;the deputy chairperson of the Planning History and Theory Branch a member of Historic and Cultural City Planning Branch, of the China Urban Planning Society;deputy chairperson of the Industrial Building Heritage Committee of the China Architectural Society, director of the Urban and Rural Built Heritage Committee, etc.

Introduction to the Lecturer
Chen YANG, PhD, Associate Professor, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, Honorary Senior Fellow in the University of Queensland, Australia. He is the co-anchor for the 2021 Global Webinar on Transformational Impacts of Information Technology, Our World Heritage Initiative, Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development (JCHMSD), and the expert member of ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes (ISCCL) and the International Committee for Documentation of Cultural Heritage (CIPA). Prof. Yang’s research has focused on the digital conservation, management and interpretation of World Heritage and landscape heritage in different cultural and natural contexts. He has presided over or participated in research projects on digital heritage, including National Natural Science Foundation project, National Key Research and Development Plan, and Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project, and undertook the planning and design and digital protection practice of World Heritage sites and national cultural sites.
