Brief Introduction

Facing the current climate change, China has formulated the development goals of carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Currently, cities already consume two-thirds of global energy and generate more than 70% of carbon emissions. As architects, how can we combine design and technology to help achieve carbon-neutral cities and buildings, while simultaneously improving the quality of the outdoor built environment for human beings? This lecture will introduce our cutting-edge research and teaching achievements of architectural design with artificial intelligence recently.

面向当前气候变化，中国已经制定了“2030碳达峰、2060碳中和”的发展目标。目前，城市已经消耗了2/3的全球能源，并产生了超过70%的碳排放。作为建筑师，我们如何结合设计与技术，助力实现碳中和城市与建筑，并兼顾提升室外建成环境质量？本次讲座将介绍近期开展的建筑设计与人工智能等数字技术开展的前沿交叉性研究与教学成果。

Jiawei Yao, Associate Professor of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. He received his master and Ph.D degree in the University of Nottingham, UK. He is funded by Shanghai Sailing Talent Program. He is the deputy director of Shanghai Construction Digital Construction Engineering Technology Research Center and served as the deputy director (temporary post) of Shanghai Hongkou District Construction and Management Committee. His main research area is architecture intelligent design and microclimate digital twin technology. He is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Postdoctoral Fund. He has published more than 40 research papers, also served as guest editor of some journals such as Building and Environment.

同济大学建筑与城市规划学院副教授，上海市青年科技“扬帆”人才，硕士与博士毕业于英国诺丁汉大学。上海市建筑数字建造工程技术研究中心副主任，并曾担任上海市虹口区建设与管理委员会副主任（挂职）。主要研究方向为建筑智能设计与微气候数字孪生技术。已主持国家自然科学基金、全国博士后基金等多项国家与省部级课题，发表中英论文四十余篇，担任《Building and Environment》等国内外期刊客座编辑与论文评审工作，参与起草发布多项上海市地方标准。
