SOM is looking for some Internsfor Architecture and Urban Planningteams in Shanghaioffice now. However,there is flexibility in the dates based on the student’s schoolschedule. In addition to architectural/urban planning work experience, interns will have the opportunity to participate in the Profession Program, which includeslunchtime seminars hosted by SOM Shanghaioffice in all disciplines supplemented by a varietyof architecturally focusedfield. Work experience can be expected toinclude the following tasks:
Description:
· Performwork on basic segments of architectural projects.
· Assist ingeneral preparation of design and construction documents, including models.
· Performbasic documentation and presentation work.
· Developunderstanding of building materials, details and construction and documentation techniques.
· Develop andunderstanding of and adherence to firmwide procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:
· Applicants must be enrolledin a 4-5-year undergraduate degreeor master’s programor student training program; typically interns are entering the last year of program;graduates will not be acceptedinto the Internship Program.
· Limitedexperience in the architectural profession or associated arts.
· Demonstratesbasic abilities in drawing and rendering.
· Strongverbal and written communications skills.
· Modelbuilding skills.
· Computer knowledge/abilities includinguse of word-processing and e-mail programs, AutoCAD,REVIT, Adobe Applications and 3D Visualization Programs including Rhinoand Grasshopper.
