课程摘要：

全球化背景下，城市发展的角色和关系有所变化，全球城的概念因而兴起。本讲讨论全球化对城市发展的影响，讲解全球城的概念和相关理论，并以芝加哥和纽约两个城市为案例，剖析全球城的发展战略。

Abstract:

The role and relationship of urbandevelopment has been revised under the background of globalization, and thenthe concept of global city has correspondingly emerged. This lecture discussesthe impact of globalization on urban development, and elaborates the conceptand theories of global city. It is followed by an exploration of developmentstrategies of global city on the basis of case studies of Chicago and New YorkCity.

主讲人背景简介：

王兰，同济大学建筑与城市规划学院城市规划系教授、博士生导师。研究方向为：城市发展战略与政策，集中分析全球城市和健康城市。曾先后获得同济大学城市规划专业学士及硕士学位；美国伊利诺大学城市规划与政策博士。同时担任中国高等学校城市规划专业指导委员会秘书长，世界银行和亚洲发展银行城市发展专家以及城市规划学刊专栏编辑等职务。同时负责多项科研及咨询项目。
