Brief Introduction

This lecture shares the case studies of implementing the Multi Objective Optimization (MOO) methodology within a parametric design setup to facilitate early-stage decision making in professional practices, especially in delivering Net Zero Carbon (NZC) projects. A typical MOO process is to use mathematical techniques to simultaneously optimize more than one objective subject to pre-determined constraints, such as reducing energy while improving daylight. With variables and objectives stemming from all design disciplines, there is a need for designers and owners to work together to capitalize on their varied expertise and achieve efficiencies in NZC building design optimization.

本讲座分享了在参数化设计设置中实施多目标优化 (MOO) 方法的案例研究,以促进专业实践中的早期决策,尤其是在交付净零碳 (NZC) 项目方面。典型的 MOO 过程是使用数学技术同时优化多个受预定约束的目标,例如在改善日光的同时减少能源。由于所有设计学科的变数和目标,设计师和业主需要共同努力,以利用他们的各种专业知识并实现 NZC 建筑设计优化的效率。

Xiaofei Shen is a  Mr. Shen has years of experience in delivering High Performance Buildings that were rewarded in AIA, ASLA, Metals in Construction, IBPSA Building Simulation, etc. He is currently leading the team efforts of developing the Net Zero Carbon design optimization dashboard AECOMzero and the façade performance optimization dashboard AECOM Façade Optimizer. These digital tools are designed to facilitate the early-stage design decision making based on multi-objective assessment through parametric performance simulation, generative design optimization, and interactive data visualization.

他在高性能建筑设计与零碳发展咨询领域拥有多年实践经验,并一直致力于协同参数性能模拟及数据驱动设计,呈现舒适高效的绿色建筑。其中,多个项目获得美国建筑师协会及国际建筑性能模拟大会等的荣誉奖项,并在Autodesk University,美国ASHRAE建筑性能分析会议,及亚洲计算机辅助建筑设计研究协会会议中进行了演讲和介绍。
