讲座简介

“一些这个，一些那个”这句话可能听起来很随意。我们事务所并不特别感兴趣于拼贴或随机的东西。我们努力设计一些有点不同的东西，但同时让设计对更多观众而言是可读的和相关的。“一些这个，一些那个”这句话描述了两个独立的概念，它们可能看起来相互增强或有时相互冲突。不过，“这”和“那”在所有情况下都会产生对话。“这”是可以理解和明确的，而“那”则是可想象的、尚待解决的。

The phrase “Some of This, Some of That” perhaps sounds very casual. We are not particularly interested in collage or something random. We drive to design something that is a little bit different but at the same time allows the design to be readable and relatable to a larger audience. The phrase Some of This, Some of That describes two separate concepts that might appear to enhance each other or sometimes conflict with each other. But in all cases, this and that create a dialogue. This can be understandable and clear, and that can be imagined and yet to be worked out.

Kwong Von Glinow Design Office is an award-winning architecture practice based in Chicago founded on the belief that architecture is meant to be enjoyed. The practice builds the thoroughly enjoyable from the slightly familiar. Their work translates forward-looking architectural concepts into playful designs with broad appeal. Taking an optimistic and explorative approach, KVG focuses on creating innovative living environments, places for cultural engagement, urban public space, and contemporary workspaces. The office was founded in 2017 by Lap Chi Kwong and Alison Von Glinow and has delivered projects ranging from single-family homes to multi-family residential buildings, public and cultural spaces, exhibitions, and designed objects.
