Conference Introduction


本次国际会议依托2025年国家高端外国专家项目“人机共创艺科融合:AI赋能艺术研究与创新人才培养”举办。过去一年,同济大学建筑与城市规划学院AI艺术设计教学团队与美国阿尔弗莱德大学陈小文教授开展了紧密的教学合作实践研究。会议旨在借助AI赋能教学与艺术设计,开阔学生国际视野,同时搭建一个跨学科、跨国界的交流平台,汇聚全球艺术、科技、教育等领域的专家学者,共同研讨AI在艺术设计领域的最新应用成果、前沿发展趋势,以及如何利用AI赋能培养更具创新能力与国际视野的艺术设计人才。


This international conference is hosted under the auspices of the 2025 National High-End Foreign Expert Program Human-Machine Co-Creation & Art-Science Integration: AI-Enabled Art Research and Innovative Talent Cultivation; over the past year, the AI Art & Design Teaching Team from Tongji University’s College of Architecture and Urban Planning has conducted intensive collaborative teaching research with Professor Chen Xiaowen from Alfred University (USA). Aiming to leverage AI to empower teaching and art & design, broaden students’ international perspectives, and establish an interdisciplinary, cross-border exchange platform, it will bring together global experts and scholars from art, technology, education, and other fields to jointly discuss the latest application achievements and cutting-edge development trends of AI in art & design, as well as how to harness AI to cultivate art & design talents with stronger innovation capabilities and global visions.

Performing with Algorithms and Machines

当算法与机器介入舞蹈表演,艺术表达正突破传统边界。内容聚焦算法与机器协作表演的创新实践,深入探索技术与身体运动的深层联结。讲座将解析算法如何拓展舞蹈编排逻辑,机器如何成为舞台上的动态互动伙伴,核心围绕人机共创模式下艺术创作边界的重构展开,打破 “技术仅为辅助” 的固有认知。展现技术赋能下舞蹈艺术在舞台、影像等多场景的多元表达可能,为观众带来一场跨越身体与代码、串联传统与创新的深度艺术思考。


When algorithms and machines intervene in dance performances, artistic expression breaks traditional boundaries. This lecture focuses on innovative practices of algorithm-machine collaborative performances, exploring the profound connection between technology and physical movement. It analyzes how algorithms expand choreographic logic, how machines become dynamic stage partners, and reconstructs artistic boundaries under human-machine co-creation—challenging the notion that technology is merely auxiliary. It showcases dance’s diverse expressive possibilities across stage, video and other scenarios, offering in-depth reflection transcending body and code, tradition and innovation.

AI and the Viennese Actionists 

当AI 邂逅维也纳行动主义的先锋精神,声音艺术迎来跨时空革新。本次讲座聚焦 AI 与维也纳行动主义的跨界融合,探索先锋艺术理念的数字时代新表达。内容结合声音艺术实践,解析如何以 AI 为工具,延续行动主义对身体、情感与现实的探索,通过数字声音处理、影像交互等技术重构艺术感官体验。核心探讨 AI 如何赋能艺术家突破创作局限,让行动主义的实验性在当代技术语境中焕发新生,呈现技术与先锋理念共生的多元可能。


When AI meets the pioneering spirit of Viennese Actionism, sonic art undergoes a trans-temporal revolution. This lecture focuses on their cross-border integration, exploring new digital expressions of avant-garde ideas. Combining sonic art practices, it analyzes how AI extends Actionism’s exploration of the body, emotions and reality, reconstructing sensory experiences via digital sound processing and video interaction. It core examines AI’s role in empowering artists to break boundaries, revitalizing Actionism’s experimentation in a tech-driven era and presenting diverse symbiotic possibilities of technology and avant-garde concepts.

当自然生态成为人工智能的灵感源泉,技术与生命科学的跨界融合正开辟全新路径。讲座聚焦 “以自然为本赋能人工智能” 的核心命题,深入探索自然系统与 AI 技术的共生创新。通过机器人传感等技术捕捉自然动态,为 AI 算法优化提供生物启示。核心探讨自然的自组织、适应性特质如何重构 AI 的发展逻辑,打破技术与自然的二元割裂。启发观众重新审视技术与生态的深层联结,为探索可持续、具身化的人工智能发展方向提供独特思考。


When natural ecosystems inspire AI, the integration of technology and life sciences paves new paths. This lecture focuses on empowering AI through nature, exploring symbiotic innovation between natural systems and AI. Capturing natural dynamics via robotic sensing provides biological insights for AI algorithm optimization. It examines how nature’s self-organization and adaptability reshape AI’s logic, breaking the technology-nature duality. It inspires rethinking their profound connection, offering unique perspectives on sustainable, embodied AI development.

Shiver of delight, Shiver of fear: An artist considers AI

当人工智能邂逅电子艺术家鲍勃・帕里斯的核心创作主题 —— 大众媒体与流行文化,便催生了兼具惊奇与不安的双重感受。内容聚焦 AI 在艺术表达中的矛盾性角色,既探索技术带来的创作喜悦,也审视其文化与社会隐忧。解析技术在强化情感传递的同时,如何避免稀释紧迫社会议题的重量,引发对技术时代艺术使命的深层思考。


When AI encounters the core themes of electronic artist Bob Paris—mass media, violence, and pop culture—it gives rise to a dual sense of wonder and unease. This lecture focuses on AI’s contradictory role in artistic expression, exploring both the creative delight brought by technology and its cultural and social concerns. It examines how to avoid diluting the weight of pressing social issues while technology enhances emotional communication, prompting in-depth reflection on the mission of art in the technological age.

Hybrid Intelligence: Human–Machine Co-Creation in the Context of New Media Art

新媒体艺术中智能媒介的涌现,正不断模糊创作者的传统边界。与传统工具截然不同,在新物质主义视角的启示下,人工智能科技可被视为融合多种意向性的客体,其与人类建立有效合作模式后,具备涌现更高维意向性的潜力。内容聚焦于将 “混合智能” 界定为新主体的存在形态,并提出应构建合作与对抗并存的动态关系。这种混合智能不仅重塑了艺术创作的既有范式,更指向未来人机关系的认知重构 —— 在技术赋权的背景下,艺术将成为探索智能边界、平衡工具理性与人文精神的核心场域。


The emergence of intelligent media in new media art is blurring creators’ traditional boundaries. Unlike traditional tools, AI—rooted in new materialism—acts as an object of multiple intentionalities, holding the potential to generate higher-dimensional intentionalities through effective human-AI collaboration. Focused on defining hybrid intelligence as a new subjective form, this content proposes a dynamic coexistence of cooperation and confrontation. Such hybrid intelligence reshapes artistic creation paradigms and points to the future cognitive reconstruction of human-machine relations: under technological empowerment, art becomes a core field to explore intelligence boundaries and balance instrumental rationality with humanistic spirit.

The Exploration and Practice of Super intelligence

讲座聚焦人工智能从大语言模型到多智能体协作的演进脉络,深入探讨群体智能技术的创新实践与未来图景。顾群业教授提出 “世界是个智能体”“智能源于语言的结构化” 等核心观点,其团队在这些认知基础上研发的 “超智人” 产品,灵感源自蚁群、蜂群协作等自然智慧,通过多个智能体在明确规则下自主协作、竞争与博弈,形成超越个体能力的群体智能。该系统运作模式类似人体内多器官的协同配合,已成功应用于软件开发、虚拟社会模拟及工业互联等领域。讲座将解析多智能体协作的技术逻辑与实践价值,展望从基础智能体到工作流智能体、再到自主协作 “超智人” 网络的发展路径,揭示人类迈向 “人机互生” 乃至智能体社会的全新阶段。


This lecture focuses on AI’s evolution from large language models to multi-agent collaboration, exploring swarm intelligence technology’s practices and prospects. Professor Gu Qunye proposes core views like the world is an intelligent agent and intelligence stems from linguistic structuration. Inspired by natural swarm wisdom (e.g., ant/bee colonies), his team’s Superintelligence product forms collective intelligence via agents’ autonomous collaboration, competition, and game theory under clear rules—operating like coordinated human organs, with applications in software development, virtual social simulation, and industrial interconnection. The lecture analyzes multi-agent collaboration’s technical logic and value, outlines the path from basic/workflow agents to autonomous Superintelligence networks, and reveals humanity’s march toward human-machine co-evolution and an intelligent agent society.

From Archiving to Activation Energy: A Paradigm Shift in Intangible Cultural Heritage Preservation Driven by AI

人工智能时代非物质文化遗产从 “静态存档” 到 “动态活化” 的范式革命,围绕 “本质之问”“方法之问”“未来之问” 三层核心展开。聚焦于重审非遗 “活态” 本质,提出超越怀旧式保护的理性战略 —— 将非遗分流为需高精度数字存档的 “文明基石”、可借 AI 实现 “创造性转化” 的活态文化,以及可自然谢幕的 “生态代价” 部分;进而解析 AI 作为关键 “催化剂” 的实践路径,通过构建智慧知识图谱、辅助生成性设计、打造沉浸式体验,系统性降低认知、创新与传播壁垒,激活非遗活化核心动能;最后展望未来,提出 AI 作为文化演化新媒介,将推动非遗迈入 “人 - 机 - 文化基因” 共生演化阶段,甚至催生 “人机协同创作” 的新型非遗形态,彰显技术赋能下人类创造力的全新可能。


The AI-era paradigm shift of ICH from static archiving to dynamic activation centers on three core questions: essence, methodology, and future. Re-examining ICH’s living nature, it classifies ICH into civilization cornerstones (high-precision archiving), AI-enabled creative transformation of living cultures, and ecological cost elements that naturally fade. As a key catalyst, AI reduces cognitive, innovation, and communication barriers via knowledge graphs, generative design, and immersive experiences, driving ICH toward human-machine-cultural gene co-evolution and spawning new human-AI collaborative creation forms—unlocking technology-empowered creative potential.

从显性规则到潜层调度:AI时代的生成式创作研究

From Explicit Rules to Subconscious Regulation: Research on Generative Creation in the AI Era

以算法生成艺术家的创作视角为切入点,聚焦 AI 时代生成艺术的创作方法探索 —— 从显性规则出发,深入剖析 “潜在规则” 的运作逻辑与实践路径。显性规则在 AI 大模型时代并未失效,而是成为理解与操作潜在规则的核心基础;而潜层调度则为创作者在高维模型结构中重获规则主动性提供了可能,艺术创作的关键张力正源于对规则内部偏移的创造性利用。讲座结合 “CyberFish”“AI 聊斋”“被协商的图像” 等代表性作品,具体阐释生成艺术家如何以规则设计者的身份,在 AI 技术语境下实现创造性创作。


From algorithmic generative artists’ perspective, this lecture explores AI-era generative art methods—starting from explicit rules to analyze latent rules logic and practice. Explicit rules remain foundational for understanding latent rules, with subconscious regulation restoring artists’ rule initiative in high-dimensional models; creative tension stems from leveraging internal rule deviations. Drawing on works like CyberFish, AI Liaozhai, and Negotiated Images, it illustrates how generative artists act as rule designers to realize creative expression in the AI context.

此次国际会议是一个良好的开端,未来希望能进一步加强中美两国以及全球范围内在科技艺术领域的交流与合作,搭建更多这样的交流平台,无论是线上还是线下,让不同观点相互碰撞,不同经验相互借鉴,共同推动科技艺术事业蓬勃发展,培养出更多适应时代需求的创新型艺术人才。


Tech-art integration is inevitable. AI and other cutting-edge tech unlock boundless artistic possibilities, breaking traditions and enriching expressions. For talent cultivation, we need to break disciplinary barriers, equipping students with solid artistic foundations and tech proficiency.

This international conference is a promising start. Going forward, we’ll strengthen China-US and global tech-art exchanges via more online-offline platforms, fostering idea collisions and experience sharing to advance the field and nurture era-adapted innovative artistic talents.

回归今天的会议主题,身为艺术家与高校教师的双重身份,在探索AI赋能艺术创作研究时,更需聚焦如何将这份力量注入艺术教育。艺术课堂无疑是关键的实践场景,它就像一座桥梁,连接着前沿科技与艺术传承。当下,我们面临着诸多挑战与机遇。如何跨学科研发适配艺术教育的工具,是亟待解决的问题。这些工具既要贴合艺术创作的特性,又要融入AI的智能元素。并且,设计AI时代下的课堂模式也至关重要,要打破传统教学的局限,营造更具互动性与创新性的学习氛围。此外,构建与之匹配的评价体系也不容忽视,它应能全面、客观地衡量学生在AI赋能下的艺术学习成果。唯有解决好这些问题,才能让AI真正成为艺术教育的强大助力,培养出兼具艺术素养与科技思维,适应时代发展的创新型艺术人才。


Returning to today’s conference theme, as artists and university educators, we must focus on integrating AI into art education while exploring AI-empowered creation. Art classrooms—bridges between cutting-edge tech and artistic heritage—present both challenges and opportunities. Key tasks: develop interdisciplinary AI-art education tools, design interactive AI-era classroom models, and establish a comprehensive evaluation system for students’ AI-empowered learning. Addressing these will enable AI to boost art education, nurturing innovative talents with artistic literacy and technological thinking for the times.
