上海自 1949 年之后的城市与建筑发展扩大并丰富了租界时代的上海城市形态学与建筑类型学。新中国建立以来的社会主义城市建设及改革开放后上海大都市的发展促使新的土地政策、城市形态、建筑造型的涌现。基于上海史研究的众多成果，聚焦当代上海城市和建筑演变中的优秀案例，本课题以城市建筑学的视角和跨媒介呈现的手法来开展《专题设计（IV）》的研究型设计。

本选题来自课程负责人李翔宁教授与法国蓬皮杜艺术中心、上海西岸美术馆联合策划的当代上海城市和建筑研究及展览的实际项目。2021 年 11 月，西岸美术馆与蓬皮杜艺术中心合作的特展“巴黎建筑（1948-2020）：城市进程的见证”呈现了巴黎过去近七十年间的诸多建筑杰作，包括办公、住宅、商业项目、大型工建项目、公共文化建筑等类型，广受好评。作为巴黎特展的姐妹篇，本次初步定于2025 年开幕的特展目标为发掘和研究同时代上海城市与建筑的优秀案例，以城市历史学、空间与视觉设计、新型数字技术支撑的跨媒介呈现等方式进行教学和指导研究型设计。

The urban and architectural development of Shanghai since 1949 has enlarged and enriched the urban morphology and architectural typology of Shanghai in the era of the Concession. The socialist urban construction since the establishment of New China and the development of the Shanghai metropolis after the reform and opening-up prompted the emergence of new land policies, urban forms, and architectural typologies. Based on the many achievements of Shanghai history research and focusing on the outstanding cases in the evolution of contemporary Shanghai cities and architecture, this project carries out the research-based design of Thematic Design (IV) with the perspective of urban architecture and the technique of cross-media presentation.

The topic comes from an ongoing project of research and exhibition on contemporary Shanghai cities and architecture, which was jointly curated by the course leader, Prof. Li Xiangning, with the Centre Pompidou in France and the West Coast Museum of Art in Shanghai.2021 In November 2021, the West Coast Museum of Art and the Centre Pompidou collaborated on a special exhibition, “Architecture in Paris (1948-2020): Witnesses to the Process of the City”, which presented many masterpieces of architecture in Paris over the past seventy years. In November 2021, the Museum collaborated with the Pompidou Center on the special exhibition “Architecture in Paris (1948-2020): Witnesses to the City's Progress,” a critically acclaimed exhibition that featured masterpieces of Parisian architecture from the past seventy years, including offices, residences, commercial projects, large-scale public works, public and cultural buildings. As a sister exhibition to the Paris special exhibition, the goal of this special exhibition, tentatively scheduled to open in April 2025, is to discover and study outstanding examples of contemporaneous Shanghai cities and architecture, and to teach and guide research-based design through urban historiography, spatial and visual design, and cross-media presentation supported by new digital technologies.
